Frequently Asked Questions

1. How can I get the best seats for a concert or event?
To get the best seats for a show sign up for our online "Curtain Up Club." It's easy! Just click on the blue ticket labeled "Contact." Fill in your information and e-mail address and you'll receive regular e-mail updates as well as the opportunity to purchase tickets to events before they go on sale to the general public.

2. How do I get tickets for an Orpheum Theatre event? Is it best to call, go online or go to the box office?
The Orpheum theatre does not have a ticketing system or an actual "Box Office" to sell tickets from. For most concerts and events the tickets are available through Select-a-Seat outlets which are located at the Kansas Coliseum, 1229 East 85th Street North, Park City, Kansas, or any Dillon Super Store or online or by calling (316) 755-SEAT. The ticketing system is the same at all locations. There is no advantage gained by going to an outlet, buying online, or calling. For some events such as our movies, tickets are only sold at the door. When a special event is scheduled arrangements are made to have those tickets sold through the theatre's administrative office. (e.g.) Meet and greet tickets.

3. Is the Orpheum Theatre wheelchair accessible?
Absolutely! All Orpheum Theatre events feature wheelchair accessible seating located in the auditorium on the first floor. To purchase a wheelchair accessible seat for a Select-a-Seat event follow the instructions in #2. Just ask for wheelchair accessible seating and if you are going with a companion be sure to ask for the seat next to the wheelchair seating. For wheelchair seating to an event that tickets are only sold at the door, simply come to the show and our professional staff and volunteers will assist you.

4. Can I avoid a service charge by buying the tickets in person?
No, All outlets, including the Kansas Coliseum box office and Dillon stores, as well as online and phone purchases, do asses a service charge.

5. Where do I park for Orpheum Theatre events?
Parking is located north of the Orpheum Centre office building, northeast of the office building across the alley, in the corner parking lot across from the theatre, or across the street. These normally reserved parking lots are available to the public after 5pm. If you prefer covered parking the Bank of America parking garage is located on Broadway 1/2 block south of the theatre.

6. I bought a ticket and will not be able to attend the event. Can I get a refund?
All sales are final for Historic Orpheum Theatre events. There are no refunds or exchanges unless the show is cancelled, in which case all tickets will be refunded at face value.

7. My event has been cancelled. How can I get a refund?
Events are rarely cancelled. In these cases it is the policy of Select-a-Seat and the Orpheum Theatre to refund all tickets. Refunds are done by returning the ticket to Select-a-Seat either by mail at 1229 East 85th Street North, Park City, Kansas, 67147, or by bringing the ticket to the Intrust Bank Arean box office Monday-Friday 10:00am-4:30pm or Saturday 8:00am-2:00pm. Tickets purchased by credit card will only be refunded to the card to which it was charged. Cash purchases done through the Dillon's outlets will be refunded by check through the mail once the tickets have been received by Select-a-Seat. Select-a-Seat does not refund the service charge.

8. I've heard we may have some bad weather. Will the event scheduled be cancelled?
Canceling an event for whatever reason is a major decision and takes into account input from the artist, the promoter, the tour manager, the producer, the record label, etc... As the venue (that is rented to a specific promoter), we are contractually obligated to hold the event unless the promoter decides to cancel. If an event is cancelled it will appear on our website, on our phone message system, and on the radio and televeision local events cancellations list as soon as we are notified of the cancellation. IF A CANCELLATION NOTICE IS NOT POSTED ON OUR WEBSITE OR THE PHONE MESSAGE SYSTEM THE EVENT WILL GO ON AS SCHEDULED. If an event is cancelled please see #7 for our refund procedure. If an event is postponed and only the date is changed the original ticket purchased will be honored on the new show date.

9. Can I volunteer at the Orpheum Theatre?
Yes! You have the opportunity to be a volunteer for a variety of things. You can volunteer for events, light office duties like helping with mailings and answering phones, and/or other special projects we schedule. For events, volunteers sell tickets, work the concession stand, or usher. If you would like to apply to be an Orpheum volunteer please contact Marti Secondine at (316) 263-0884 or marti@wichitaorpheum.com.

Orpheum Theatre Etiquette

1. Please be aware that some promoters do not allow entry into a performance once it has started. Patrons are asked to wait in the lobby until there is a break or intermission in the show. To assure you enjoy your theatre experience, please arrive on time.

2. Please turn off cell phones, pagers, watch alarms, and other electronic devices. If your cell phone rings during a performance, please turn it off immediately.

3. Please don’t talk in the back of the theatre during a performance. The Orpheum Theater was built before theatres were wired for sound so the acoustics of the auditorium are excellent. It was built so that the actors or comedians voices could be heard from the stage no matter where you sit. Please remember, your voice can be heard as well.

4. If you bring your child, make sure etiquette is part of the experience. Children love to learn new things. As a courtesy to all of our patrons, if your child becomes loud or fidgety, please take them to the lobby.

5. Please check with the theatre regarding the use of photography. Typically photography of any kind is prohibited during a performance. For shows that do allow you to take pictures, NO FLASH PHOTOGRAPHY OR VIDEO LIGHTS PERMITTED.

6. Please be aware that hats impede sightlines. The dress code is casual to business casual.

7. Please keep your feet on the floor, not on the seat or balcony in front of you.

8. Please use atomizer sparingly; many people are highly allergic to perfume and cologne.

9. Note to lovebirds: When you lean your heads together you block the view of the person behind you.

10. No outside food or beverages are allowed to be brought in the theatre.

11. This is a non-smoking theatre. The designated smoking area is outside the theatre. Please be sure to take your ticket with you. You will need it to re-enter the theatre.

12. Alcoholic beverages are available at some shows. No alcoholic beverages are allowed to leave the theatre premises.

13. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you and everyone will enjoy the show.

THANK YOU, THE ORPHEUM THEATRE MANAGEMENT
