Renting the Theatre
Base rental for the Wichita Orpheum is $830.00 (Sunday thru Wednesday) & $960.00 (Thursday thru Saturday) per day. This includes full access to the facility, and full staffing for your event by our friendly staff.
In addition, there is a facility charge based upon ticket sales, with a sliding scale based upon ticket price:
- $0.50 per ticket for each ticket sold up to $10.00
- $1.00 per ticket for each ticket sold up to $20.00
- $1.50 per ticket for each ticket sold up to $30.00
- $2.00 per ticket for each ticket sold up to $40.00
- $2.50 per ticket for each ticket sold up to $50.00
- Tickets in excess of $50.00 shall be assessed at 5% of gross ticket sales.
Private events or events that are open to the public but do not sell tickets shall be assessed a surcharge as follows:
- Up to 350 attendees- $300.00
- Each attendee thereafter shall be assessed at $.50 each.
The Orpheum's House Director must be present at all times the facility is in use. His expense is to be paid at the current rate of $68.00 per diem (per diem = 4 hours at $17.00/hr). Time in excess of 4 hours per day shall be billed at an additional $17.00/hr; time in excess of 8 hours per day, or 40 hours in a 7 day period, shall be billed at an overtime rate of $25.50/hr.
The lessee must also provide either proof of insurance (for up to $1 million in liability) or may be passed on to the Orpheum's insurance, at the following costs (based upon attendance):
Class I: Indoor meetings, musical plays, seminars, social gatherings (indoor), indoor instructional classes (non-mechanical), speaking engagements, local theatrical performances, weddings, arts festivals, auctions, crafts shows.

Sales tax on all tickets sold at the Orpheum must be paid by the lessee.
The Orpheum will receive 20% of gross sales on all merchandise sold at the event.
You may also choose to present a second performance on your rental day (for example, an afternoon matinee). There is an additional performance fee of $250.00.

Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm $20 per hour. Evenings and weekends $40 per hour.
All appointments must be made in advance and are based on availability.
Rental payments are made as follows:

A nonrefundable deposit of the rental fee (minimum $450.00), plus insurance deposit (full amount, based on expected attendance) must be paid by lessee when signed contract is delivered to lessor. Your booking is not guaranteed until the contract is signed and deposit is paid in full.
The balance of rent payment, any additional insurance payment owed, and facility charge on all pre-sold tickets is due on the day of performance prior to opening the doors. The facility charge and sales tax on tickets sold at the door is payable an hour after the event begins.
Paid daily, following event.
